Hello, I am Marsha Porshin. Serving a diverse population for over 27 years, I strive to provide personalized, objective, and experienced assistance to all my clients. I offer therapeutic services for individuals, couples and families, and am especially adept at working with children and adolescents. I have specific talents for working with victims of childhood trauma, abuse, neglect and abandonment. I also work with young people who struggle with challenges that are beyond the scope of typical adolescence. Parents may also wish to receive support from me, as they work on their individual aspect of this important relationship.
Other areas in which I provide therapy for are life's transitions, grief, trauma, fertility, illness, LGBT issues and infidelity. People also see me for help with a variety of behavioral issues as well, such as ADHD, oppositional-defiance, emotional disturbance and anger management.
I provide an eclectic range of therapeutic methods; with a strength based focus, depending on the specific needs of each client. In addition to cognitive behavioral therapy and other psychodynamic methods, I also utilize play therapy, mindfulness based approaches and sand tray.
